PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Roslina has a wide area of practice but she is best
known for her work in landlord and tenant law,
employment and industrial relations law and insolvency
law.
Roslina is one of the leading lawyers in Singapore on
landlord and tenant law. She acts for the largest
developers and commercial and industrial landlords. She
handles the tenancy documentation, advisory, litigation
and recovery work for clients. Her ability to handle all
aspects of a landlord and tenant transaction is an
advantage to clients as she is able to give advice
quickly in an area where time is of the essence to
clients. Roslina was the Honorary Legal Counsel to The
Association of Shopping Centres from 2002 to 2011.
In the area of employment law and industrial relations,
Roslina has advised statutory corporations and companies
on employment law issues in privatization and advised
companies, including banks on employment law
documentation. Roslina also advises trade unions on
industrial relations matters.
Roslina carried out two research projects with one of
her Professors at the Insolvency Research Unit, King’s
College London immediately after obtaining her Masters
Degree in Law in 1990. The first research project was on
administrations (the equivalent of judicial management
in Singapore) where she studied the first 700 cases of
companies going into administration in the major cities
in the UK in the early days of the UK Insolvency Act,
including London, Leeds and Manchester. Upon her return
to practice in Singapore, she was immediately involved
in an ongoing judicial management case, the first
judicial management case in Singapore. Since then, she
has advised and acted for companies, liquidators,
receivers and judicial managers in insolvency matters
and proceedings.
